Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 it received a raving review from music blogs as well as from the media. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and were widely appreciated. Katy Perry's support for her track Runaway in a blog post brought the singer additional appreciation. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather as a career. To achieve this, she began writing new compositions. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When her mother informed her that her music would not just help her achieve fame however, they could also help others understand their importance to the world and appreciate how they can benefit from the songs She decided to start playing in front of the public. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started making music when she was 9 years old. Her family didn't know until the age of fourteen. Aurora was not a goal. Her only passion is to write music. According to her, she believes that music can help any person feel better.
